I couldn't get my stuff together early enough for a decent photo session so we hit up JC Penny for the annual pictures.

Fun Fall Stuff

At the magic castle with some friends.  They only allow pictures in the front room.

At the "mini olympics" for gymnastics.  Violet got first place for her Vault in her age group.

And third place for something else we couldn't remember.

Thanksgiving

The grandparents came over for Thanksgiving.  Eric did all the cooking--a turkey, a ham, and shepherds pie. It was a lot of food!

Catch up

Violet has been growing up fast.  She is one of the tallest of her peers, although I doubt that will last long term given the height of her parents.  She decided to cut her own hair in school because she wanted bangs.  I was sad about it but relieved she didn't cut someone else's hair.  We took her to Super Cuts to try to even out her bangs.

No comment.

She lost one and then the other front tooth.

New Mexico 2017

The family visited New Mexico in mid-November.  We took Violet to Pecos where Eric and I got married, so that was fun.

Halloween

Halloween is one of our favorite holidays.  We still decorate the house, although I think our decorations are considered "old school" at this point.  We don't have any lights or floating ghosts, but we still have fun with it.

We spent a lot of time at the local pumpkin patch which is really like a small carnival.

At first Violet wanted to be a cat again.  She wore her cat costume from last year to her school's carnival.  She could barely squeeze into it!

Later on she decided she wanted to be a Num Nom.  Some kind of scented collectible toys she likes.  Here she is the night of our community centers Halloween party.

Halloween day we carved pumpkins and Eric used him dremmel tool to carve out Violet's intricate design.

Eric's pumpkin had teeth.

Halloween night Eric and I took her out. There were hardly any trick or treaters this year and because of that all of the neighbors passed out so much!
