San Francisco with the Odani’s

Violet and I met my friend Jenee and her family in San Francisco for a vacation.  Violet and I ordered room service and visited the museum of ice cream where there were samples of ice cream in every room.  Violet thought it was magical.   We also visited fisherman’s wharf and giardehi.  We went to the exploratorium where we went in the tactile dome which is pitch dark.  She and I had a panic attack together but after quitting within the first 3 minutes we tried again and made it through the dome twice.

We also spent a night in Sunnyvale visiting a good friend Janice and her family.  Violet loved having a sleepover with Jayden and locking the boys out.

Family Sequoia Camp

For the third year we went to Sequoia for a week for family camp.  We did tie dying, panted ceramics, and ate lots of food.  It’s really more like glamoing with all meals provided and even a masseuse on staff.  Violet got moved up an age group—she is no longer with the primary kids.  As a “marmot” she got to attend her first overnight across the lake without mom and dad—but still supervised by counselors.  Of the 11 kids that went, only four stayed the night (Violet was of course one).  Without parents to say no, she ate four s’mores.  She came back the next morning filthy dirty and smiling.

Summer 2018

How awesome is it to be a kid and celebrate summer?  Violet spent the summer of 2018 at day summer camp at the JCC and we went to family camp again for the third year in a row in Sequoia.

End of 1st grade

Violet’s 1st grade class performed a musical of the three bears at the end of the year.  She got to play mommy bear which she really enjoyed.
